the Atlantic multihull boatshow

15 to 18 April 2010 - Lorient

Boatbuilders’ space
April has been chosen for a reason.  It is a quiet time, out of the boatshow season so yacht builders are more available.  This date allows them to showcase new crafts before the holiday season, just at the right time to finalize prospective sales after a sea trial or to capitalize on business contacts.
Moreover, most of the builders can bring their multihulls to Lorient by sea – therefore the costs to exhibitors will effectively be reduced.  The Boatuilders’ space can accommodate sailing and power catamarans and trimarans alongside the quay.  Getting on board the boats moored to the pontoons and organizing sea trials at the end of the day will be easy.  Indeed, Lorient harbour will be very lively.
All the main French boatbuilders have already confirmed their participation in this event, as well as the foreign shipyards involved in the building of multihulls.  These last few years have seen the multihulls greatly increase in size.  Visitors will have the opportunity to admire prestigious crafts exceeding 60 feet in length.  Of course the 35 to 60 feet multihulls will be the mainstay with all the new crafts exhibited by the yards.
The builders’ agents and distributors will also be able to show previously owned yachts and take their prospective customers out for a sail in the best of conditions.

Equipment space
The manufacturers of deck fittings, sails, electronics, rigging, sea clothing, computer and other onboard systems, are constantly innovating and will be delighted to present their new wares to amateurs and professionals alike.

Charter and Tourism Space
Multihulls, catamarans in particular are, better and better suited to the charter and crewed cruising sectors because of their comfort, stability and large living areas.  This venue will enable visitors to discover multihull cruising regions, compare them, choose between summer in Europe and winter in the tropics, plan and book their holiday: all this here within on place dedicated to the fulfilment of one’s dreams.

Naval Architecture Space
• Naval architects
Discover a fascinating world! That of the naval architects who work with the boatyards on custom boats for specific owners or on forward looking environmentally friendly projects - who will be present at the show.
• Interior design
Another art with which the general public is not familiar, but is essential to the boat accommodation.  Several designers have already confirmed their involvement.

R&D Space
To-morrow’s technologies at the service of multihulls.  This space will host several different players involved in the “clean innovation” domain.

Events – animations
This event will be lively and dynamic.  Lorient harbour offers a well sheltered stretch of water, a magnificent setting to see multihulls under full sail.
• Enthusiasts can gather to compete on board the first generation of racing multihulls.  Don’t miss these regattas: these yachts still have something impressive to offer!
• Conferences: experts in their domain will lecture on subject as varied as naval architecture, boat building and chartering.
• Animations: cultural events will take place for visitors, day and evening …
