the Atlantic multihull boatshow
15 to 18 April 2010 - Lorient
A WORD FROM THE ORGANIZERS
We are pleased to announce the first Atlantic edition of the multihull boatshows, which will be held in Lorient, just in front of the Cité de la Voile Eric Tabarly, from the 15 to the 18 April 2010.
Pre-season, this splendid harbour will accommodate the new units exhibited by the shipyards afloat and along the quay: sailing and power catamarans and trimarans. The OEMs, charterers, associations, sailing schools and others stakeholders in this industry, will also be present.
More than just a boatshow, it is a dynamic and animated event, which will liven up the city seafront. Over four days, visitors will be able to take part in demonstrations and sea trials aboard the shipyards’ newest or the second hand boats. They will also have the opportunity to admire former racing multihulls. The discovery space will allow multihull enthusiasts and other sailors to meet with naval architects and designers and to take part in conferences on the subject.
For the organizers, seafarers’ solidarity is not just an empty term - for this first edition, we have chosen to support the association Friendship International France, whose aim is to collect funds to help the most disadvantaged populations. With the project 500 boats for 500 families, the funds will be used to finance the building of fishing catamarans for the victims of the 2007 tsunami in Asia, as well as hospital catamarans and river ambulances.
The Atlantic boatshow will alternate every two years with a Mediterranean edition in a port yet to be selected.
Looking forward to seeing you - Multihull enthusiasts, sea and boats lovers, in Lorient between the 15 and the 18 April 2010.
